Abstrak

Critical thinking is very necessary in learning because it can develop broad knowledge for students. The ability to think critically can be formed through the activities of the learning process at school. The ability to think critically is also the basis in a learning process. This model can be used to improve students' critical thinking skills. The Role Playing model can be used as a comfortable and fun learning model without losing the essence of the ongoing learning. This study aims to describe the Effect of Role Playing Model on Students' Critical Thinking Ability. This research is a quantitative research. The method used in this study is Pre-Experimental Design with a "one group pre test post test" design. The population of this study were all fourth grade students as many as 30 students. Based on the results of data analysis shows that the results of the "pre test" before being given treatment the lowest value is 40 and the highest value is 80 with an average value of 64.87 while for the "post test" after being given treatment the lowest value is 72 and the highest value is 100 with the average value is 88.00. "So, there is an increase after learning to use the role playing model. In these results, it is stated that there is an influence on the critical thinking ability of fourth grade elementary school students.
