PowerPoint-Based Interactive Multimedia Development to Improve Students’ Critical Thinking Sklills

Abstract

Learning media are objects that can be used in integrating teaching materials. The use of media in learning activities can make it easier for students to digest the material. The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the process of developing interactive multimedia based on powerpoint (2) the quality of developing interactive multimedia based on powerpoint (3) the results of the realization of interactive multimedia based on powerpoint. This research is a type of development research or R&D (research and development) where this research aims to develop existing products or create new products. This development research adopts the ADDIE development model which has 5 stages in development, namely analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating. The source of data in this development research comes from the process of developing interactive multimedia based on powerpoint with reference to the ADDIE model, material and media verifiers and students who answer questionnaires. The results of the evaluation of the material expert verifier obtained an average score of 66%. The media validator obtained an average score of 98% from the first to the third stage of evaluation. The results of the application of student response questionnaires that have been carried out have received good responses from students, with an average of 95.2%. Data from the pre-test and post-test assessments showed that the results obtained by students in the post-test were better than the results of the pretest. The results of the study can conclude that interactive multimedia based on powerpoint is feasible to use in learning.
