The role of the Head of Madrasah in an educational institution has a very important position. The role of the head of the madrasa itself means that someone is responsible for the implementation of all programs and activities in an educational institution. The quality or quality of an educational institution will be good depending on how the Madrasah Principal performs his role. The purpose of the first research is to find out how the role of the madrasa principal is. Second, to find out how efforts are made to increase reading interest. Third, to find out how the factors that influence reading interest. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, which describes what is in the field in accordance with the facts and events that occur in the role of the head of the madrasa related to increasing students' reading interest. In this study, researchers used data collection methods, namely by observation, interviews and with documentation data. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the role of the head of the madrasa has been going well. As for the Madrasah Head as an Educator, he has the right strategy to improve the professionalism of the education staff in Madrasahs. The Head of Madrasa as Manager, in an educational institution has the role and function to regulate and manage all activities or activities that are in an educational institution. all school programs. The head of Madrasah as Supervisor, to supervise educators and education staff so that they are better in carrying out their duties. The Head of Madrasah as Leader, has a role to assign tasks and coordinate and supervise in accordance with educational activities. Head of Madrasah as an Innovator, has the right strategy to establish a harmonious relationship with the environment, seek new ideas, and develop innovative learning models. The Head of Madrasah as a Motivator, has the right strategy to motivate education staff teachers in carrying out various tasks and functions..
