Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

 

AL-I'ROBY is a national scientific journal that is open to seeking innovation, creativity and novelty, an online journal and published twice a year. To establish ethical behavior by all parties involved in the publication of Journal articles including authors, editor-in-chief, Editorial Board, peer-reviewers and publishers. (Hasiim Asy'ari University Jombang). This statement is based on the COPE Best Practices Guidelines for Journal Editors.

 

The Editorial Board is responsible for, among other things, deciding which research articles should be published and preventing publication malpractice. Unethical behavior is unacceptable and AL-I'ROBY does not tolerate plagiarism in any form.

 

  1. Editor's Responsibilities

Publication Decisions : Editors must be responsible for everything published in the journal and must strive to meet the needs of readers and authors. The editor's decision to accept or reject a manuscript for publication must be based on the editorial board's review.

 

Manuscript Review : The editor must ensure that each manuscript is initially evaluated by the editor, to check the authenticity of the contents of the manuscript and ensure the quality of the material to be published, to see whether the contents of the manuscript meet the goals and standards set by the journal management.

 

Fair Review : Editors should strive to ensure that peer review is conducted fairly, impartially and in a timely manner. The editor ensures that every manuscript received is evaluated based on the content of the manuscript without regard to gender, race, religion, nationality, etc.

 

Confidentiality : Editors and other journal administrators may not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors, and the publisher, as appropriate. The editor must ensure that information regarding the manuscript submitted by the author is kept confidential.

 

Notice and Conflicts of Interest : Editors should ask reviewers to disclose potential interests of the manuscript before approving the manuscript.

 

 

  1. Author's Responsibilities

 

Reporting Standards : Authors must accurately present their original research, as well as objectively convey the results of their research. Manuscripts must be edited according to journal writing guidelines.

 

Authenticity : Authors must certify that their work is completely unique and original.

 

Redundancy : Authors may not submit the same paper to more than one journal which is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.

 

Source Acknowledgment : Authors must acknowledge all data sources used in the research and cite publications that contribute to their research.

 

Authorship of the Paper : Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to conceiving, designing, conducting and/or interpreting the proposed study. All persons who have made significant contributions to this research must be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author must also ensure that all authors and co-authors approve the final version of the submitted manuscript.

 

Data Access and Retention: Authors must retain raw data related to their submitted papers, and must make them available for editorial review, upon request of the editor.

 

Fundamental errors in published work : When an author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in a submitted manuscript, the author must immediately notify the editor.

 

  1. Reviewer Responsibilities

 

Confidentiality : Reviewers, editors, and editorial staff must not disclose any information regarding submitted manuscripts. Editors should provide guidance to reviewers about everything that is expected of them including the need to handle submitted materials confidentially.

 

Acknowledgment of Sources : Reviewers must ensure that authors have acknowledged all sources of data used in the research. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been reported previously should be accompanied by relevant citations. Reviewers should also call to the editor's attention any substantial duplication or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and other published manuscripts of which they are personally aware.

 

Objectivity Standards : Review of submitted manuscripts will be carried out objectively. Reviewers should express their views clearly, with supporting arguments. Criticism due to personal issues is not permitted.

 

Time Limits : If the reviewer is unsure or does not have time to review the manuscript, the reviewer must immediately notify the editor, so that the manuscript can be published on time

 

Conflict of Interest : All Reviewers must have no conflict of interest with respect to the research, authors, and/or funding agencies.

 

 

  1. Changes or Modifications to Published Papers

Withdrawing a manuscript is strongly discouraged, it is a waste of resources and valuable time for journal managers. If authors still request withdrawal of their manuscript, the following guidelines should be followed :

 

  • Withdrawal of manuscripts will be permitted only for the most urgent and unavoidable reasons. Withdrawal of a manuscript from a journal cannot be accepted because it is being accepted by another journal.
  • Authors must submit a request to the editorial office as a letter signed by all authors stating the complete reasons that led to the withdrawal of the manuscript.
  • In cases where a manuscript takes more than six months for the review process, the publisher allows the author to withdraw the manuscript without paying any fees.
  • If the manuscript is still in the peer-review process, the author must pay 500,000 (IDR) per manuscript as a withdrawal penalty
  • If the manuscript has been accepted for publication, the author must pay 1,000,000 (IDR) per manuscript as a withdrawal penalty.
  • If the author does not agree to pay the fine, the author and his affiliates will be blacklisted from publication in this journal
  • Authors should not assume that their manuscript has been withdrawn until they receive notice from editorial.

 

  1. Punishment

 

Double Submission:

 

If a Double Submission is found, the editorial board must check its status. If the double submission is confirmed to be intentional, then:

 

  • The review process will be stopped.
  • The reasons must be sent to the reviewers, editorial board and author.
  • All authors' names will be marked as blacklisted, and these authors cannot submit any papers to AL-I'ROBY for two years.

 

Double Publication:

 

If a duplicate publication is discovered or known from another source, the editorial board must check its status. If double publication is confirmed to be intentional, then:

  • This will be reported to the editorial board and authors.
  • It will be sent to publishers who published the same (or very similar) paper.
  • Paper will be removed in accordance with the “Deletion” section in Section 4.
  • All authors' names will be marked as blacklisted, and these authors cannot submit any papers to AL-I'ROBY for two years.
