Abstract

Understanding human nature for a teacher is important for everyone, especially for educators, who fix human characters of different nature. Education occupies a central position in development because its aim is to improve the quality of human resources. The school's discipline culture must be understood and must be mastered by the principal, because this cannot be separated from the structure and pattern of leadership. Educational leadership is a leader in an educational institution. Without the presence of educational leadership, the educational process, including learning, will not run effectively. This study aims at how the principal builds student discipline at the time of admission. Case study research method (case study) that focuses on a problem in depth and detail and maintains the integrity of the object under study. The results of field research conducted for SMK Plus Umar Zahid Semelo, the success or failure of a leader is determined by the nature and style of leadership in directing the dynamics of the organization. In influencing the principal must have maturity (maturity), intelligence (IQ, EQ and SQ), self-confidence, assertiveness, ability to supervise and others. The principal maintains the principles and carries out the roles, namely: a) the principal as a manager, b) the principal as an administrator, c) the principal as a leader, d) the principal as a creator of the work atmosphere.
