Abstract

This study raises the title Effect of Guidance and Counseling Management on Student Character Education
at SMKN 1 Jombang. This research is motivated by the skills of the teacher’s character guidance and
counseling. This study has three problem formulations, namely guidance and counseling management,
student character education and the influence of guidance and counseling management on character
education of students at SMKN 1 Jombang. Research is included in the type of quantitative research using
correlational methods with techniques and data using a questionnaire. The sample in this study may be
300 students at SMKN 1 Jombang. There are two research variables, namely management guidance and
counseling (X) and student character education (Y). The data analysis technique used t-test (1)
Management Guidance and counseling at SMKN 1 Jombang has been implemented very well or very
satisfied category, with a percentage value of 84.13%. (2) The character education of students at SMKN 1
Jombang is good, with a percentage value of 81.46%. The character of students is evidenced by the
existence of discipline, obeying rules, manners, hard work, student achievement and others. (3) The
simultaneous influence between guidance and counseling at SMKN 1 Jombang is seen from the tcount
coefficient value of 11,052 > 1,967 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05.
