Abstract

The language is already inherent in man is used as a means of getting and funneling
information to the public. The language was born from a wide range of areas across Indonesia.
Excess human that uses two languages in a balanced way in the conversation we rarely
encountered, especially in daily conversation the santri. This is where we can find out that
languages are always changing and growing. Interference is one of the mistakes in the language
due to the habit of using the mother tongue speakers into a second language.
This kind of thing happens a lot in the speech students, where students come from a
variety of different areas. So interference found in the boarding school was interesting to be
examined more deeply in order to provide more insight on the linguistic landscape. This
interference is examined using a qualitative approach. The qualitative approach is taken because
the source data is taken in the form of data regarding the description of people, things, places, and
people. Data is already obtained are then processed and analyzed based on the theory that is used,
in particular the theory of interference from Weinrich.

Research done on one Foundation which has five boarding schools boarding with
different locations and diverse students from all over Indonesia. The results of the research on
interference found speech students containing as many as 55 speech interference. It also explains
what factors about affecting the occurrence of interference in speech students.
