CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS ON DONALD TRUMP’S SPEECH ABOUT JERUSALEM AS A CAPITAL CITY OF ISRAEL

Abstract

ABSTRACT
Critical Discourse Analysis of this research is analyzing about Donald Trumps’ speech about
recognizing Jerusalem as a capital City of Israel. The aim of this research is to find out: 1)
Discourse Structure 2) Political Discourse and 3) The Relations among Language, Power and
Ideology. The analysis of this research is based on theories of CDA’s expert which were
especially represented by Teun Van Dijk and Norman Fairclough. The method that used
in this research is descriptive qualitative research method which deals with data that are in the
form of word on data transcript. From this research, we can find out the discourse structure on
Donald Trump’s Speech and even about political discourse used by Donald Trump in his speech
and also how the relations among language, power and ideology of this speech.
