Abstrak Penelitian ini merupakan pengembangan produk media pembelajaran berbasis komik animasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Mengetahui pengembangan produkmedia audiovisual berbasis komik animasi, (2) Mengetahui kelayakan media audiovisual berbasis komik animasi untuk meningkatkan budaya literasi, (3)Mengetahui efektifitas media audiovisual berbasis komik animasi untuk meningkatkan budaya Literasi yang terwujud dengan tradisi berfikir kritis dalam pelajaran IPS Kelas V di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D). Menurut Sugiyono (2012: 407) penelitian dan pengembangan adalah metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk tertentu, dan menguji keefektifan produk tersebut. Nana Syaodih Sukmadinata (2006: 169) mendefinisikan penelitian dan pengembangan merupakan pendekatan penelitian untuk menghasilkan produk baru atau menyempurnakan produk yang telah ada. Jadi penelitian pengembangan merupakan metode untuk menghasilkan produk tertentu atau menyempurnakan produk yang telah ada serta menguji keefektifan produk tersebut. Produk yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah media audiovisual berbasis animasi untuk meningkatkan budaya literasi yang terwujud dengan tradisi berfikir kritis. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sekolah dasaryang ada di kabupaten Madiun. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari hingga Oktober tahun 2018. Adapun yang menjadi subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V di sekolah dasar Kabupaten Madiun. Kata kunci: media audiovisual, komik animasi, budaya literasi, berfikir kritis, IPS SD.Abstract This research is the development of animated comic based learning media products. This study aims to (1) determine the development of animated comic-based audiovisual media products, (2) Know the feasibility of animated comic-based audiovisual media to enhance literacy culture, (3) Know the effectiveness of animated comic-based audiovisual media to enhance the culture of literacy manifested by the tradition of critical thinking in social studies class V in elementary school. This research is a type of research and development or Research and Development (R & D). According to Sugiyono (2012: 407) research and development are research methods used to produce certain products, and test the effectiveness of these products. Nana Syaodih Sukmadinata (2006: 169) defines research and development as a research approach to produce new products or perfect existing products. So development research is a method to produce certain products or perfect existing products and test the effectiveness of these products. The product developed in this study is an audiovisual media based on animation to improve the culture of literacy that is realized by the tradition of critical thinking. This research was conducted in elementary schools in Madiun City. The time of the research was conducted from January to October 2018. The subject of the study was the fifth grade students in Madiun City elementary school.
