Abstract

Traffic conditions at the crossroads in Madiun City are classified as congested. This is because
around the intersection is the main road to the centers of activities such as, there are several centers
of economy, education, parks and offices. Congestion, delay and length of the queue at the
intersection is caused by traffic conditions at the intersection itself. In this case a good and easy road
mechanism is needed to be passed so that it does not endanger the road user. Population growth in
the City of Madiun greatly affects the level of transportation needs that have an impact on the
performance of the crossroads. To get a good level of intersection performance, it is necessary to
evaluate the traffic performance and provide several alternative improvements to the existing
problems. This study aims to evaluate the performance of signalized intersection traffic and provide
several alternative scenarios for improvement at the Ruang Terbuka Hijau Kartini intersection, Diponegoro intersection and Tugu Pecel intersection in Madiun City. The method used in this
research is to use the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual 1997 method. The results of the analysis of
traffic performance in the existing Ruang Trbuka Hijau Kartini junction conditions obtained a delay
value of 35.89 pcu / sec. At the Pecel Tugu intersection, a delay value of 25.94 pcu / sec was
obtained. At the Diponegoro intersection, a delay value of 1869.34 pcu / sec was obtained
